We will support RUTO’s Presidential bid in 2022 after UHURU KENYATTA – KIKUYUs says as they rubbish KIONI’s reckless remarks.
Thursday February 27, 2014 – Elders from the Kikuyu community on Wednesday castigated recent sentiments by former Ndaragwa MP, Jeremiah Kioni, that the Kikuyu community will not support Deputy President, William Ruto’s Presidential bid in 2022.
Speaking at a forum in Nakuru on Wednesday, the elders who were led by John Njoroge Kariuki said Kioni is free to make his personal opinion but not on behalf of the community.
“We as elders, professionals and religious leaders under the auspices of GEMA in the Rift region are offended by recent statements by former Ndaragwa MP, Jeremiah Kioni, and we condemn them to the letter,” Njoroge said.
Njoroge said the Kikuyu community resolved on March 4th last year to support William Ruto’s Presidential bid in 2022 and anybody saying contrary to this is an enemy of the community.
The elders also expressed confidence that Ruto will be the fifth President of Kenya since he would enjoy the backing of the GEMA communities.
“William Ruto will be the fifth President of Kenya and you can take that to the bank,” Njoroge said.
