SHOCKING: UHURU KENYATTA’s operatives offered me 250 MILLION to dump RAILA ODINGA – Am going for ANYANG’ NYONG’O’s neck
Friday November 29, 2013 – A prominent Senator associated with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has revealed how she was nearly bribed by Jubilee operatives to ditch CORD leader, Raila Odinga, during the party’s nominations in February.
In a shocking revelation, nominated Senator, Elizabeth Ongoro, revealed to a local tabloid that she was approached by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s men who promised her Sh 250 million if she ditches the Orange Party.
“I was approached and offered Sh250 million to abandon ODM but because I believe in the party’s vision for Kenya, I decided to remain firmly behind our Presidential candidate,” Ongoro said.
On why Raila Odinga lost the March 4th elections, Ongoro who is also former Kasarani MP, put the blame on the ODM party primaries where the losers were awarded nomination certificates instead of the winners.
“I was disappointed because the primaries were greatly flawed and mismanaged by some bad elements inside the party, which eventually cost us the general elections,” Ongoro said adding that she was rigged out by ODM party officials and her senatorial slot given to former Starehe MP, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who later vied for the Senate seat on an ODM ticket was beaten hands down by Jubilee lawmaker, Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
Ongoro, who was later nominated for Senator by ODM, said she is vying for Secretary General in ODM in the upcoming elections to sanitise the party and ensure that there is no repeat of such fiascos which made Raila Odinga lose the election.
