SHOCKER: UHURU/ RUTO’s man threatens to ban RAILA ODINGA from LUO Nyanza
– Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga faces yet another big huddle after the Kisumu County Commissioner, Francis Mutie, threatened to follow the footsteps of his Uasin Gishu counterpart and ban him from holding his CORD rally in Kisumu.
Mutie said he will not allow any acts of lawlessness and incitement in his county and that he does not fear Raila Odinga at all.
“I will not allow Raila Odinga’s CORD to hold rally in Kisumu because what I want is a peaceful County and CORD rallies are never peaceful most of the time and are full of incitements,” said Mutie.
This comes despite Nyanza being the “political headquarters” of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in terms of support base and where Raila Odinga enjoys unwavering political support and may just be a tall order for Mutie.
Uasin Gishu County Commissioner and Governor had banned Friday’s CORD rally, but chickened out at the last minute when they could not handle and withstand Raila Odinga’s wave and allowed the rally to proceed.
The Eldoret rally was one of Raila’s most successful ones and went on peacefully to the utter surprise of many, including Uhuru/ Ruto’s Jubilee, who had predicted doom.
CORD’s Kisumu rally is scheduled for 5th July, 2014, just two days to the much hyped and anticipated saba saba rally at Nairobi’s Kamukunji Grounds.
