REBELLION faces UHURU/ RUTO …… Division in Jubilee Alliance after UHURU and RUTO’s operatives accuse each other in Inter Continental Hotel
Friday February 28, 2014 – A major fallout is now eminent in Uhuru/ Ruto’s Jubilee alliance after United Republican Party officials and their The National Alliance (TNA) counterparts accused each other of poaching members.
Tempers flared over the issue on Thursday at an internal TNA meeting between party officials and its Parliamentary Group at the InterContinental Hotel, in Nairobi, where some party officials accused URP officials of poaching their members.
A section of TNA MPs and Senators accused URP of targeting their members from the Rift Valley, especially from Kajiado and Nakuru counties.
They claimed that is why some MPs led by Kajiado Central MP, Moses Ole Sakuda, were demanding for party elections.
They claimed Ole Sakuda is being sponsored by URP echelons to oust nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, and Secretary General, Onyango Oloo, over alleged misappropriation of party funds.
“We have information that a coalition partner has been sponsoring feuds with the sole purpose of destabilizing our party. This may not be right because we are not competing parties,” one MP who is a close ally of President Kenyatta said.
This comes only a week after URP party officials accused their TNA counterparts of undermining them and not involving them in Jubilee coalition decisions.
