RAILA ODINGA SHOCKED as LUHYAs tell him off and vow NEVER to vote for him again
Former House Speaker Kenneth Marende has joined ODM rebels in abandoning former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ahead of the 2017 General Election.
Addressing mourners in Bungoma during the burial of Alfred Khangati’s father where Raila Odinga was also present, Marende incited Luhyas to abandon the former PM and vote for one of their own come 2017.
He said their partnership with the former PM has not yielded much fruits and that it is time Luhyas forged their own path and elect one of their own as President and avoid being used by other communities to ascend to power.
Marende insisted on the Luhya unity saying it is the only way the Luhya people, who have been widely branded as cooks and watchmen, will be respected after producing the 5th President of Kenya.
“This time, vote for a fellow Luhya for President and no one else, we have been used as a ladder by other selfish communities for a long time,” said Marende in front of Raila Odinga.
Marende’s sentiments are a big blow to Raila because he is banking on the Luhya community for his 4th shot at the Presidency.
