CONFIRMED: USAID may be relocating for good thanks to UHURU/ RUTO – DETAILS
– President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, have suffered a humiliating blow in the tourism sector after the US agency pulled its staff from Kenya permanently.
This follows increased terror threats to Kenya by the Al-Shabaab and general insecurity in the country which the President and his Deputy have failed to address conclusively.
Speaking yesterday, a US official confirmed that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is relocating its staff from Kenya to other countries permanently due Al-Shabaab.
“We have decided to permanently relocate some US Government personnel, including US staff who work primarily on regional programmes to other regional centres in Africa,” said Mr. Matt Herrick.
The move is a follow up on the recent travel advisory from the US Government urging its citizens to avoid Kenya due to imminent Al-Shabaab terror attacks and continued security threats, which saw evacuation of Americans from Kenya.
The increased terror threats saw the US Ambassador to Kenya request for additional US marines to guard the Embassy from Al-Shabaab insurgents.
