Duma Works is recruiting a Sales Manager for one of our clients; a leading trader in Agricultural Produce from East Africa
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to trader on market information and commodity information
  • Update commodity market information database
  • Regularly be updated with the recommendation from trader
  • Search for Sales opportunities as per matching opportunities
  • Fill in opportunity form
  • Check updated product catalogue and send product for product initiation
  • Generate sales opportunity long list
  • Check if buyer is new and initiate customer selection and registration process, if new. If not, update the sales opportunity database
  • Check matching opportunities best/ optimal product mix
  • Prepare and send sales order together with delivery plan, receive signed SO and accepted delivery plan
  • Be informed of all the checks that supply chain are going through at sales order stage
  • Review order and arrive at SO variance analysis and update into the system
  • Close and archive sales order
  • Receive and record customer complaint
  • Accountable to Send the complaint to CA/ PA process, check if the complain was resolved through ca/ pa, update database with solution, send the feedback to the customer, check if customer is satisfied, update and close customer complain
  • Informed about the any other way of resolving the customer complain and legal process if taken on customer complain
  • Accountable and responsible for, defining survey methodology and benchmark for customer satisfaction survey, randomly pick customers, contacting and surveying the customer, collect and document the feedback, and once survey is complete, archive the review. Is consulted when the report needs to be sent to CA/PA process. Informed about the customer satisfaction survey findings and the comparison against the benchmark set.
  • Accountable and responsible for customer registration and selection process. Being informed by the evaluation team and credit bureau of the credit rating of the customer being evaluated.
  • Accountable and responsible for the customer evaluation process. Consulted in the process when developing and defining customer evaluation criteria/ specifications to generate customer evaluation criteria document, and when in the process the concern if any raised by the customer is legitimate. Informed about the evaluation score and if any legal action is to be taken on the customer.
  • Study recommendation paper
  • Check matching opportunities and search for opportunities to match
  • Negotiating with the buyer
  • Prepare opportunity evaluation statement
  • Being informed of the matching opportunities optimal/ best product mix to proceed to sales order
  • Following up on ageing report for customers
  • Resolving dispute with customers
Sales Manager KPIs
  • Amount of relevant information given to trader
  • Number of sales opportunities brought in, number of sales opportunities converted to sales order
  • Number of new buyers brought in, number of new buyers registered and selected
  • Number of complains handled and solved through CA/PA
  • Number of customers/ trade that have defaulted
  • New markets/ products sold
General KPIs
  • Number of ideas, new processes, document changes, problems solved
  • Timely handover of information/ documents to the respective depts./ individuals
  • Timely and valid Input to departmental meetings
  • Time given to company and projects
  • Speech and Language use/ behavior at office with external and internal members
  • Values shared
  • Training and development undergone
  • Assistance provided to internal and external auditors
Qualifications
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sales Management
  • Must be self-driven, dynamic, highly motivated, and Sales and Marketing oriented
  • Very good team building and leadership skills
  • Results orientated
  • Customer orientated mindset
  • Good presentation skills
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office, as well as Data Analytics
  • Ability to design, create and structure the necessary sales materials
  • Good information management skills for reporting consolidated sales and performance results of the sales team
  • Possess excellent written and spoken English and Swahili
