AFC LEOPARDS hit with TRIPLE BLOW ahead of the crunch CAF Confederations Cup clash against South Africa’s SuperSport Utd on Saturday.
Friday, February 28, 2014-Kenya Premier League giants, AFC Leopards, will miss the services of three key players when they take on SuperSport United on Saturday’s CAF Confederations Cup tie.
The Gotv Shield holders will have to make do without the services of midfield powerhouse, Peter ‘Pinchez’ Opiyo, prolific striker, Allan Wanga and marauding defender, Juma Abdalla.
Abdalla and Wanga are sidelined due to injury while Opiyo lacked the necessary traveling documents.
While confirming the situation of the trio, Coach James Nadwa said: “Opiyo is set to attend trials outside the country soon and his passport is therefore in the Embassy of the Country that he is set to go for the trials.
“We have tried all we could but it was a little bit too late. However, I believe we can make without him in this particular match.”
“We have no otherwise but to use the players available and I believe whoever I choose to take his place will do a good job.
The team leaves for South Africa on Friday evening and Nandwa confirmed they have requested CAF to consider postponing the game to Sunday after Leopards failed to secure South Africa visas on time.
